Liberty Justice Center is a nonprofit public interest legal organization that respects the privacy rights of all visitors to its sites and the supporters of its legal programs. The terms and conditions of its privacy policy are further explained below.

Standwithworkers.org (the “Website”) is owned and operated by Liberty Justice Center (“LJC”). This Agreement governs your access to and use of any Liberty Justice Center website and your use or attempted use of our products and services (collectively, “Your Use”).

1. Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to all visitors to this Website and all Liberty Justice Center’s websites and services, including any apps, websites, features, and other services. Please remember that your use of this website is also subject to our Terms and Conditions.

When you provide information to Liberty Justice Center such as your name, telephone number, address, or other personal information, we collect that information.

When you contact us or we contact you, we collect any information that you provide, including the contents of the messages or attachments you send us.

B. Information We Collect When You Use the Website

We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, data analytics tools like Google Analytics, SDKs, and other third-party technologies to understand how you navigate through the Website, to improve your site experience, to serve you better ads on other sites, and to save your preferences. Liberty Justice Center also collects some anonymous information each time you visit the Website so we can improve the overall quality of your online experience. We collect your IP address, referral data, browser, and platform type. You do not have to register with Liberty Justice Center before we can collect this anonymous information. We do not collect any unique information about you (such as your name, email address, etc.) except when you specifically and knowingly provide such information.

If you request more information or communications from our organization, we will collect your personal information only so that we can get you the information you have requested. Like most standard Website servers, we use log files to collect and store this anonymous user information. We analyze this information to examine trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Liberty Justice Center may present links in a format that enables us to understand whether they have been followed. We use this information to understand and improve the quality of the Website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Educate you about the organization’s activities as a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public-interest litigation firm that seeks to protect economic liberty, private property rights, free speech, and other fundamental rights;
• Attract potential plaintiffs that the organization may represent;

Communicate With You.
We may use the information we collect from you to contact you which may include calls at the number you have provided or additional communications by traditional mail and email.

Educate You.
We may use the information we collect from you to educate you on our activities as a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public-interest litigation firm that seeks to protect economic liberty, private property rights, free speech, and other fundamental rights.

Attract Potential Plaintiffs.
As a public-interest litigation firm that seeks to protect economic liberty, private property rights, free speech, and other fundamental rights, the organization will seek to identify potential plaintiffs for whom the organization may determine to represent to further its mission.

Respond to Legal Proceedings and Obligations.
Occasionally the law, government entities, or other regulatory bodies impose demands and obligations on us with respect to the services we seek to provide. In such a circumstance, we may use your personal information to respond to those demands or obligations.

Solicit Charitable Contributions.
Liberty Justice Center, an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is primarily supported by charitable contributions. As such, the organization may contact you to solicit charitable contributions.

4. How We Share Your Information

Sharing With Third Parties.
We may share your personal information with third parties that provide operational services on our behalf, such as website hosting, information technology and infrastructure, data analytics, email delivery, credit card processing, order fulfillment, auditing or other services, or that assist Liberty Justice Center in providing you with support and resources. These third parties may not use personal information for any other purposes.

For Legal Reasons.
We may share your personal information in response to a legal obligation, or if we have determined that sharing your personal information is reasonably necessary or appropriate to:

With your permission or upon your direction, we may disclose your personal information to interact with a third party or for other purposes.

5. How We Store and Protect your Information

We protect your personal information. Data is secured in transit by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. Only authorized employees or agents with a legitimate business purpose are allowed to access your personal information.

Please understand that LJC is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites linked to our sites or other third parties. When leaving an LJC site using such a link or by clicking on an advertisement, you should review the applicable privacy policy of the other party.

6. Your Rights and Choice Regarding Your Data

A. All Users.

You may ask us to remove you from the lists by: (1) emailing from our Contact Us page; (2) calling us at 312-637-2280; or (3) writing to us at Liberty Justice Center, 440 North Wells Street, Suite 400, Chicago, Illinois 60654.  We do not provide your information to telemarketers, mailing list brokers, or other companies. Third parties do not collect personally identifiable information about the online activities of individuals who visit LJC’s sites. You can always unsubscribe from our emails by clicking unsubscribe in those messages. We will still send you transactional and relational emails about your use of the Website.

“Do Not Track” Signals. Your browser may offer you a “Do Not Track” option, which allows you to signal to operators of websites, web applications, and services that you do not want them to track your online activities. We do not recognize or respond to “Do Not Track” signals.  You should consult your web browser(s) to modify your cookie settings. The Colorado Privacy Act (“CPA”) provides Colorado residents with the additional rights listed below.

Right to Know. You have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal data and access such data, including:

• How you can exercise your rights and appeal a decision regarding your request;
• The categories of personal information that we have shared with third parties; and
• The categories of third parties with whom we have shared your personal information.

Right to Correct. You have a right to correct inaccuracies in the personal data we have collected about you, considering the nature of the personal data and the purposes of the processing of your personal data.

Right to Delete. You have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you unless we need to retain that information for a specified purpose as exempted under state law.

Right to Obtain a Copy. You have a right to obtain a copy of the personal data we have collected on you.

Right to Opt Out. You have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of (i) targeted advertising, (ii) the sale of personal data, or (iii) profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Right to Appeal. If we decline to act regarding your request, you have the right to appeal this decision.

Other Rights. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of the rights listed above.

Exercising Your Colorado Privacy Rights. To request access to or deletion of your personal information, or to exercise any other data rights under Colorado law, please contact us using the following method:

Response Timing. We aim to respond to a consumer request for access or deletion within 45 days of receiving that request. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. If we decline to act regarding a consumer request, we will inform you of the reason within 45 days of receiving that request.

7. Third Party Links and Behavioral Tracking

Third Party Links.
We may include links or offers to third-party’s on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We are not responsible or liable for the content and activities of these third-party sites.

Third Party Information Gathering.
Liberty Justice Center includes content from third parties that may perform user activity tracking other than that described herein. These other sites may place their own cookies on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information. For more information about each third-party content provider, cookies, and how to opt-out, please refer to such third-party advertiser’s privacy policy.

8. Children’s Data

LJC’s websites and services are intended for general audiences and do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. We are committed to complying fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. Of course, we also encourage parents to discuss privacy issues with their children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the Website changes and privacy law evolves. If we update it, we will do so online. When you use the Website, you are agreeing to the most recent terms of this policy.
